If you've booked a session with me, chances are you've asked yourself at least once:
"What should I bring?"
The good news? You don't need much.
Sure, there are a few practical things that can help your session run smoothly, but the most important thing you can bring isn't something you can pack in a bag.
It's your excitement.
Your willingness to laugh, be present, and enjoy the experience.
The photos you end up loving most usually aren't the perfectly posed ones. They're the moments in between—the genuine smiles, the laughter, the hugs, and the little interactions that happen naturally when you're having a good time.
So before we talk about props and touch-up kits, remember this:
You don't need to be perfect. You just need to show up ready to make some memories.
Seniors
Senior sessions are all about celebrating you!
This is such a fun season of life, and your photos should reflect your personality, interests, and style.
A few things you may want to bring:
- A couple outfit options
- A brush or comb
- Makeup for touch-ups (if you wear it)
- Water
- Items that represent your hobbies or interests
Sports equipment, instruments, books, college gear, artwork, or anything else that's meaningful to you can add a personal touch to your gallery.
Most importantly, bring your confidence. You don't have to know how to pose or what to do in front of the camera—that's what I'm here for.
Just come ready to have fun and be yourself.
Couples
Whether it's an engagement session, anniversary session, or just because, couples sessions are all about your connection.
You don't need to practice poses beforehand or worry about looking awkward.
I promise. My job is to guide you through the session so it feels natural and relaxed.
A few things you may want to bring:
- Comfortable shoes for walking between locations
- A second outfit layer if you'd like some variety (jackets, hats, scarfs)
- Anything meaningful to your relationship
- Water
Love grabbing coffee together? Bring your favorite drinks. Always spend summer evenings at the beach? Let's incorporate that. Have a favorite picnic spot or activity you enjoy together? Those personal touches help tell your story.
Beyond that, just bring yourselves.
Laugh together. Tell inside jokes. Hold hands. Focus on each other instead of the camera.
Those genuine moments are what make your photos feel like you.
Families
Parents, this section is especially for you.
Please don't worry if your kids are energetic, shy, silly, or somewhere in between.
Family sessions aren't about getting everyone to smile perfectly at the camera for an hour. They're about documenting your family exactly as you are in this season of life.
A few helpful things to bring:
- Water bottles
- Small, non-messy snacks
- A favorite comfort item for younger children
- An extra outfit for little ones
- Bug spray if we're outdoors
- Bubbles or other interactive toys!
The best thing you can bring, though, is patience.
Kids need room to explore, play, and be themselves. Some of my favorite photos happen when everyone lets go of expectations and simply enjoys being together.
